I like that the tie outs take away some floppy fabric. +1 for optional.

I'm starting to think this is true with my bbxlc.

+1 to Boston! I use a Hennessy and I find little difference between using tie outs and not. With my uq, the tie outs interfere with my ideal fit so if I use them at all, I tend to keep them loose enough to accomodate the uq without interference. The uq makes a great spot to tuck tie outs into if not using them. Yes, the netting will be closer to your face but not (my experience) in a way that is detrimental to a good nights sleep! One exception: the tie outs on my HH are shock cord so when I use them, they absorb the swing and sway that can come with just breathing. We all love the rock-you-to-sleep factor of hammocks, right? I know I do! If my hammock swings through the night, though, it wakes me up. If that happens, I switch and use a single tie out to slow the swing but still allow it on a reduced scale too. Hope that made sense.... Happy hangin!!!

i rarely use the tie-outs on my wbbb. it's a tidiness issue for the most part, i think.

about uq fitting; i've not really tried the tie-outs to see if there's an impact. i'll defer to others on this.
