    Thought this would be good place for a? Got cold last night and am going to change my head gear. Thought of ordering a down hoodie/hat, but then I saw some wool ones. Have any of you tried a wool type? I'm thinking its bulkier, but more washable and might hold up better over time. Any thoughts? Thanks

    I’ve never needed anything as heavy as wool. Silk, nylon (rayon?), fleece are all light, washable, and do the job for me.
    In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

    Wool takes much longer to dry. I'm a big fan of fleece, i.e. various 'flavors' of Polartec.
