And how to not wake up with a knot on the forehead from falling asleep with a headlamp on your head, and sleeping with your head jammed into the side of the hammock like Lionel Ritchie.

    All night long.
Like thrash metal? Check out my nephew's band, Deathwatch. He's an amazing drummer... https://soundcloud.com/user-660860695

Great illustration, got the book (paperback and for the kindle)
I'm not ashamed to admit that the paperback has pride of place in my toilet for when I need to get away from the kids and have some me time

Good to see this again. A lot of new hangers signed on since it was last posted. The book has been one of my best aids after becoming elevated.

What type of material should be used for ridge line that's strong enough, a steal? How taught should it be?

Zing-it or Lash-it is a good strength and what many people use. Only real difference between those two is the color, I believe. As for how tight the line should be, I like to be able reach up from my hammock and be able to put a bend in the line using my hand. In other words, it should be a straight line without a sag, but should have some play. You don't want to be able to pluck out high notes on it... maybe just lay down a bass line.
All those hours exploring the great outdoors made me more resilient and confident
