with Cuben tarp: Zing It? Dynaglide? ENO cord? Stuff from REI?

OK. So I went and got me a cuben tarp w/doors from Hammock Gear. Woo-hoo!

Now I'm wondering about the best guylines.

Do I simply take the cords off its predecessor (an ENO tarp) and use those?

Or should I order one of the many cords from Dutch - which one?

Then there's the stuff REI has in spools where I can choose a size and length (that's where my ridgeline is from). What type/size should I get?

Appreciate some expert advice.

I'm a Zing-It 1.75 mm user. Then again, I don't have any requirements for reflective line.

I would go with Lawson's glowire. That's what I have on mine.

I use 1.25 mm Z-line from Zpacks. Decent break strength, does not tangle. It does not hold a knot very well. It can be damaged by hardware such as tarp flyz, so I only use on the side guy outs. I use 1.75 mm zing-it or Fling-it for the ridgeline.

I use 1.75 Lawson glow wire for tie outs. Such a nice tarp deserves good, light cordage. I've poked around looking for 1.25 mm glow wire but haven't found any.

What are people's thoughts on a loop of shock cord on the tie outs. I've been using tarp worms with shock cord and zing-it on my sil tarp but I'm wondering about the best method for my CF tarp which is in the mail right now. I know CF tarps don't stretch so perhaps shock cord is not needed.

I don't see a need for shock cord on the cuben fiber. I've found it difficult to get a bad, un-taut hang with the cuben. When I bump it or trip on a tie out the whole set moves slightly, but is still taut like a drum after. I just wrap the lines around the stakes a few times. Great stuff.

I am jealous because I am still one to two years from purchasing the CF Winter Palace Tarp. Doesn't mean it's not on my wish list along with the following:
2 Wasp with 2ea. 12 foot Zing-it $28 10g.

Lawson Reflective Cord 25 feet 25.5g Orange $7.50 although I may only use two 8 foot sections and use two 6 ft pieces of Zing-it from the other tarp.
25ft 1/8'? Shock Cord $4.25
4 each Mini Cord Locks $.80
4 each Tarp Door Hook $7.60 .3g = 1.2g
with some Titanium Hooks

Hope this helps you to think about what you want. I also invite anyone else to comment on the wish list as far as add's / subtracts or change?
