Never even thought of pockets ... Cool idea!
I used to use a short piece of mason's line to tie each toggle to the end of the strap. But now I'm using 1/2" diam tubes as toggles, so I've found that I could just fold the end of the strap lengthwise and cram a few inches of it inside the toggle. Holds good n tight, haven't lost one yet.

"But hey, 2 trees anywhere is a bedroom waiting to happen, right?"
I'm sure the string works for some of us. I like the pocket.

I present a variation on the pocket above. The overlapping flap when sewn to fit loosely permits easy secure storage and easy access. The diagram on the left shows in cross section how the pocket appears before sewing and turning it right side out. The right shows the completed pocket with the toggle inside. You'd sew the bottom to the tree strap. :*)
Edit: P.S. I also painted my toggles, also made of arrow shaft, pink.

My toggles stay attached to the whoopie slings with a loop of reflective cord. This serves a dual use as the "bead" to prevent the whoopies from being pulled through. I use two different colors so I can tell the head and foot end apart during setup.....
The best toggles I found, before I stopped using them for something easier, was a pair of "tent pole repair" tubes. They sell 4" long tubes in varying colors and diameters for trailside repair of tent poles, at REI. I think mine were 1/2" and a nice light orange-bronze color. I like the pocket idea, I was just tossing mine in the inner pouch of my pack down below where the water bladder goes.
