first use of a new Superfly tarp

This weekend was my first use of my new Superfly. The tarp itself was great, although there were really no conditions to need a tarp except for the cold (-9c).
However, I had a couple of issues with the tarp. As you can see in the photos, my side pulls had a definite sag between them which really negated their purpose. And the doors I left open at my head end didn't really seem to cinch up taut.
    Any suggestions?

Some of your problem is that you are pulling your tarp inward the way your using the side pullouts. Try them going on their own seperate lines to reduce the inner sag.

The line connecting your pull outs could be much longer. Try 12 feet which gives 6 feet of run until the apex

Let me pretend I'm from Texas or Florida:

    WHAT'S THAT WHITE STUFF?!

Seriously, not sure I'm ready for it even though I know it won't be long.

Side pull outs - I go straight out with a line each and not to one point in between as you have them.

Or you could do a pole mod.

I am with Fluteman. Pole mod solves all your problems and is the answer to your prayers!

But if you want to do it with cordage, then yes, using longer line and/or separating the lines will help.

If weights not an issue, go with a pole mod. If you're trying to cut weight, use separate guy lines. Either way, that Superfly is a cavern once you get it right!

My first attempt with it Saturday

Used 12 foot line between the pullouts

Everytime I see these Superfly threads I have to resist the urge to buy one. I really don't need it. I don't do winter camping and my Edge has worked well in pretty heavy rain. But dang I could have a party under a Superfly!
