2Q's, I am the last person on this forum to say that my way is the best way, but........ I have been using my HH with the overlaping doors for nearly 2 years. The overlap design allows the hammock support web to "force" its way where it pleases, and the doors tend to close around it. I don't want removeable doors 'cause I don't always know when the rain will fall or the wind will blow. The overlap does use excess material for some pitch angles, but there are an infinite number of pitch angles allowed by the overlap, and even in its tightest, most narrow pitch the excess material could not amount to more that an ounce. Angrysparrow, Hetairoi, IHanginBankhead, MacEntyre, Skippy (although he was cross-eyed sick), and others had a good long look at my doors at Sipsey this past weekend. I would welcome their comments and criticism to improve the design, but, lacking any impovements, I would be thrilled to have doors on my cat cut Ultra that would work as well as the doors on my straight cut HH Hex.

How about one single door & one double door per "kit". I often totally secure one end of my tarp & leave the other end (preferably on the lee end, or at least the end with less wind, of the tarp if I can) loose enough for me to slip through with ease. At Mt Rogers this year, I sealed one end, & left the other 1/2 open, then it was just a matter of walking out or in.

Also interested. Shoot. I don't even care of the fabric is the same shade, so long as it doesn't clash

Like Doug, I'd prefer them to be non-removable.

Don't believe him. I know Fulminated to be a highly sensitive, fashion-conscious kinda guy.

I'm signing up too....for what I don't know yet? but I'd be happy with doors on my McCat Ultra Spinn...permanent or removable beak...either is better than what I've got.
I spent many a night last month using Griz's beaks..it is a huge difference and I'll make up the weigh penalty in carrying less beer!
I like removable but if you decided to only offer permanent doors for the Ultra then please begin! Let me be the first to ship you my tarp. If you can do the doors in Spinn than that gets a major major woohoo.
Reminds me, I was just reading the thread on hammock-history-innovation.....tarps with doors should be there too.
Just tell me what I have to do.
    p.s. no zipper....anything but a zipper

    C'mon now.

I wear the same bright green polypro shirt and nylon cargo pants everytime I go camping. Fashion isn't even on my radar.

i also would be interested, I like the style you did that maximized coverage instead of taking it away. Hope you offer something soon.
