I'll probably end up waiting until after Christmas to see what was in this year's box before asking for it next year. I like the surprise idea, but it's tough to spend the money without having any idea of what I'll end up with.

Of corse the flip sides to that is that one, we might not get enough response to justify ever doing it again and two if we do we won't put the same items in again.

    Very FUN idea.

I will be curious to see how many orders you get on this as I think its more fun than practical for most people. The price points are quite high. $125, $250 and $500 is a lot of dough for most folks these days. I have no doubt that your $500 box is well worth it and contains some VERY nice stuff inside. But if I need some hammock gear and have $500 to spend, I am going to order exactly what I want and not chance it with a mystery box in the hopes that it contains what I need/want. Same really goes for all the current price points. I think I would be more enticed to order if there were some boxes in the $25-100 range. Obviously these boxes wouldn't contain the big time goodies (whole hammock set ups, UQs etc) but I would probably spend $50 to see what smaller goodies arrive (For example...DutchBling, stickers, ZingIt!, Hammock Pillow, Stuff Sacks, etc.)

Good luck with this promotion and hope it sells like gangbusters. A little too rich for my blood though.

Agree, its a fun, original idea. Remains to be seen what the response is at the prices on your site. I guess my question might be, is this for someone who already seems to have everything, or for noobs who might not already have a lot of it? Oh, and will we be seeing the box show up on other vendors websites, too?

I love the box idea. However, the price point is too high for me for completely random stuff.

I know this can be really popular - a box of crap at woot disappears in minutes (similar idea).
