    Reasons to Hate Hammocking

    1. Having to get out to pee.

    2. Procrastinating on packing up in the am and just laying in my hammock.

    3. Getting addicted to all things DUTCH.

    4. Always thinking about Hammocking.

    5. Getting out of the hammock.

What are your reasons for hating hammocks?

And another one full of other hammock related stuff (suspensions, etc)

I hate having to explain hammock camping to people. They tend to only envision coarse rope hammocks with wood spreader bars that they have fallen out of in the past when I say I use a hammock for my outdoor trips.

This is both the worst and best aspect of using a hammock. I usually like covering some ground on a trip and the desire to lounge in the AM delays that. On the other hand being in the woods and just enjoying the time is a good thing!

Having to explain to people you have backpacked with for years that you are going to start using a hammock instead of a tent...especially when you and they used to make fun of hammockers as members of a cult!!!

Seriously though, we aren't going to abandon our tent, as we have a nice set up...it's actually heavier for my wife and I to have hammocks than it is to have a tent. It's going to be hammocks sometimes and tent other times.
