Thumbs up ViDEO: Using a Camping Pad as Hammock Insulation

Don't let a cold back or buttocks keep you from sleeping overnight in you hammock. Throw that pad in and get on out there to the Backwood Hood.
More than likely you already got pad laying around or iff'n you don't then there are some really affordable Closed Cell Foam pads out there.

Good vid and good info Shug! I'm thinking about trying a layer of reflectix between a sleeping bag and bivy but the condensation is what worries me. I might just have to find out for myself though. Hoping the sleeping bag layer would help with the condensation.

Wrap your pad in a flannel sheet. The cotton absorbs the condensation - but you need to dry the flannel the next day. Works great down to 30F, and satisfactory down to the mid 20F's.

Well as always mighty fine stuff there Shugrow ... only feller I know that uses a ladder to get into a hammock! And with the most excellent style and form I might add!

Great video--as always! Hey, Shug, I was wondering, what is the stand you are using with your hammock in this video? Is it a DIY...and if so, how do you make one?
