    Down hood and sleeves question

Im curious how the hood attaches to a vest or jacket? I picked up a cheapy JC penney down jacket that I plan on using as an additional layer for winter camping. It doesnt have a hood but a big collar. Id like to use the hood with it if possible.
Also, for the sleeves, Id plan on using them on my legs and then "folding" them down for makeshift booties. Just like the video on the website shows. I notice that the top is open tho. Is there any cordage there to cinch that closed? It seems like it wouldnt work that great if there is a big hole letting cold air in. Of course, my feet would already be in my TQ footbox which would be cinched....so I dont know how much of an issue that hole would be.
Does anyone use them for that purpose? If so, can u please let me know how effective it is. I seem to always have cold feet so I need something.... (also why Im not married....haha...cue the rimshot)
Also....was thinking of getting an armadillo pillow....any thoughts or opinions?
    Thnx all....apreciate any help.

I am not sure the hood connects to a jacket but a good hood is invaluable for sleeping in cold in my opinion. I use an old one I took off of a jacket.

JRB Down hood connects to a vest or jacket using two sections of omni-tape, (which is both male and female velcro stuff) that is sewn to both the hood and the jacket. Then just stick them together, and separate them when desired.

Sleeves used as booties works, and the hole by your toes could be closed off with rubber bands, although if your feet are in the footbox of the TQ, I doubt it would be necessary most nights.

Just got my down sleeves and hood from Lukes's Ultralite. Same concepts / costs, but I felt there was more to the puffyness / chambers with Luke's versus JRB. Both are excellent products and cottage industries. I gave Luke the business because of his very high quality of materials and workmanship, (as well as veteran status). Would be happy with JRB products though.
