    alternate spreaders

Something I mentioned to Pan at TD that he said they had also tried was using carbon fiber arrow shafts with a nock on both ends for spreaders- you could also potentially use them as a kind of suspension in conjunction with a back pad if you use a frameless ultralight pack like I do... the old time hammocker I work with suggested that he might use it on his high tech navy style hammock he's building; I'll try and get pics of it if he ever gets it done! (it will be worth the wait based on what I've seen so far and other things he's built).

This is the Warbonnet Cat Tarp. It has a cat cut on all sides and on the ridgeline.

Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

Kewl, Have you an estimate for load limits? 200, 250, 300 lbs?
    Peace,

Why the cat cut on the ridgeline? Maybe I'm not realizing something, but doesn't that just reduce headroom under the tarp? Is is for increased pitch tautness?

Man that tarp is tight as a drum. I agree with you, HE. I like the deep cat cuts on the sides.

He also did something pretty cool with the edges. The GGR is one continous piece. It is inside the end seam. The tie-outs are made by leaving out a loop at the corners. This does away with corner reinforcements. The only downside I can think of Rock mentioned. It would be harder to field repair.

yeah, you could thump it & it sounded like a drum. as tight as any tarp i've seen.
only thing about that cat curve ridge line that i wouldn't like is less head room... unless you hang the tarp high.
in wind/rain you would have to hang it low.
the deep cuts look cool, but don't forget... the deeper the cut, the lesser the protection.
