Planning a trip to the Superstition Mountains - any recommendations

My wife and I are planning a trip to the PHX area and the Supes. We plan to do a 25 mile/2-day trip starting at the Peralta trailhead and camping for the night around the Whiskey Springs trail.

Does anyone have any recommendations where they have camped at with their hammock?

    Thanks

I wasn't a hanger when I lived in AZ, but Peralta is a beautiful trail with Weavers Needle well worth the effort.
I can tell you there are few to no trees or desert brush to hang from.
Any hangers from AZ want to chime in...?

Kurt is the only one that has posted about the Sup's (that I know of) .... You can check out his vid here... http://youtu.be/FEK8fMb-JeQ

I have not hiked the Peralta trail for over 20 years. I remember it begin a great hike with lots of views. I have recently hiked similar trails at the same elevation. The vast majority of the hikes are shrubs. You have 7 foot tall Manzanita, but you can't hang from that. You might get lucky near spring, but just not sure. How long until you are coming? I can check with some friends that are still on that side of town and try to get some more detail on the Whiskey Spring area.

Bumping this up. I live less than an hour from superstition and would love to hike it, wondering if I need to bring my tent or if I might got find a place to hang.

Depends on where you go. I always hang in the Rogers Trough area.
