We're expecting some more snow this week, and I'm betting it'll still mostly be there in two weeks. Should make for a beautiful gorge weekend!

Awesome to hear Mark! Look forward to seeing ya again under better conditions

    I might see about coming.

There's no potable water near HB so either a filter or a few jugs would probably be a good idea.
Depending on conditions it might be a good trip to break out the microspikes or yak traks.
The view from HB is pretty amazing, you'll want your best camera with you and perhaps some binoculars.
If you have a mapping app that will accept GPX or KML files then you can load the Linville Master file on it so you've got all the trails listed.

I'm planning on putting the stuff to make camp with in one pack and have another ready to go as a day pack for some hikes.

Depending on conditions, I'm hoping to arrive noonish on Saturday and do a loop down the road to the Ledge trail and back up and around Hawksbill to the summit. That should work out to about ~3.6 miles and a lot of elevation change total. I haven't been on Ledge before though. I suspect it may not be safe if its icy or covered in snow.

I'm hoping Sunday to drive down to the MST trailhead and do a trip up to the top of Table Rock and back but we'll see.

Hope to see you out there.

There is a Spring Pipe between sitting bear and Hawksbill. Easily walkable From HB TH but I'd rather drive... Don't care for walking on gravel roads too much, mmmmm.....

Hmm, forgot about that although I kind of meant municipal water like you'd have in a campground.

    Does the spring pipe freeze?

I imagine it could but find it unlikely as the water is underground. I think it would take an extended period of really cold temps. Even if, I it would still only be the pvc pipe that froze up

It was running good the whole time PackRat and I were up there for snowmegaddon 2016 a few weeks back and it was bone freezing cold

I think we won't have any issues getting water from there but I'll probably bring a couple gallons in with me to be on the safe side
