I use it as my kitchen bottle. I have duct tape around it. Mine leaks a little.

Just did this last week with the help of a buddy who already had knowledge. We also placed buttons along the outside seam to create a pod style if you wanted to. Hoping to try it out on the next Alabama hang.

I just used this about a month and a half ago, on a bikepacking trip and it worked beautifully! I was warm all night (not sure of the temps for that night), it stayed in place all night, and it was big enough to completely close me in from any wind or cold. I'm going on another bikepacking trip this weekend and I'm going to bring along a car sunshield to see if it will help to keep me warm now that the nights have been getting colder.
Any tips for what else I can bring for light, compact insulation?

We used ours at the Hot Springs hang this past weekend.

We each have a layer of Insul Bright safety pinned in the PLUQ.

    Worked great. Thanks

I did... a long time ago... worked fine.

The only trick is to make sure the lower-foot end shock cord goes over the foot box, otherwise it will slip out from below you...

Dutch Quilt hooks are awesome. A safety pin through the grosgrain edging works, too.

All right, tired of wrestling with the pad, too cheap for the UQ. Bought my PL, shock cord and put it together, took about 15 mins, will try it out tonite, a little skeptical....

If you get a good fit, it will comfortably take you down into the mid to upper 40's... I've slept at 48 or so and I'm a cold sleeper.

Add some Mule tape! It makes everything better!

If you're a bit cold, even a fleece blanket, pinned to top side makes a big difference...

It needs some more tweaking, I couldn't get my hands on any good quality shock cord so I had to improvise with some elastic that I am sure will shift on me tonite. I will replace it this weekend. What chain stores sell bulk shock cord besides West Marine, I am drawing a blank.

After some more hang time and adjusting, I think it just might work out. I don't think it will be acceptable for a BP trip. This thing is too big and heavy, but will be great for the frigid winter of South Louisiana in the backyard. Should be 62 degrees tonite, bbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Joann's carries 3/32 shock cord, and most sporting goods stores that carry climbing gear will have heavier shock cord...

The Joann's stuff is dirt cheap and barely strong enough, but you can double it...
