PLUQ .. For a Clark UL

    Just picked up a new P/L .. Digi camo ... 39.00 bucks..

I'll be putting mine together this weekend ... I'm adding at least one layer of Insul-Fleece ... I'll bring it with me on the Fall MAHHA Pre-hike and hang ... I'm putting this together as insurance as well ... I have a prototype/experimental DIY pad I made using Tyvek, Mylar, & Polyethylene ... I''ll post my results upon completion ,,,

Thanks Dejoha ... For the awesome graphics ... this will make it a snap...and Thanks to all the input from the rest of the members ...

    PLUQ with Hennessy BP UL

Soooo, I tested this outside a couple of nights ago and was definitely warm into the 40's, but have a couple of concerns that I'd like some advice on.

    1. I really feel a little scrunched on the asym lay - does anyone have a method that works for them to get the PLUQ to "fit" on the diagonal better?
    2. Although I was warm and didn't feel like there were any drafts, it seems like there was some extra room underneath me (when looking down through the entry). Any ideas on snugging it up more tightly?

Thanks to all who have been contributing thus far.

Pull the cord running along the length of the hammock tighter. this will bring the sides higher and the center of the quilt closer to the hammock body.

Acknowledged, but I'm guessing that this is going to diminish the ability to sleep on the diag?

The other option is to use something like a "triangle Thingie" which moves the attach point for the UQ inward by a foot or so. This pulls the UQ up more, without over-tightening the suspension.

Made a PLUQ based on the diagram, what an easy project. Will look into sewing it up also. Now need to go test it some.

This is some great information. I have several PL, and now also a plan. Thanks..

Also, I found PL on eBay, I bought a Lot of 5 for $50, so works out to $10 a piece, not too bad. I also got one at a yard sale for $1, so hit those yard sales and check it out. Yard sales in a community near a military base usually result in good PL finds.

    Awesome find! I'm jealous!

If you get a good deal on a military poncho, how's $20 w/ shipping?

You crazy people got me to spend 4 hours last night figuring out what my ebay password was, haven't used ebay since 2003. Great, there goes all my fun money.
