First post and what a great site. Have learned a ton over the last few months and have already made my own hammock, suspension, tarp and UQ. Last night I was sewing up my second hammock out of 1.0 HyperD and decided to put in the stretch side mod. I put in a grommet 30" from the top and wanted to run the shock cord down about 20" and sew it in place. This way, the cord is far enough away from me that it does not lay on me when I am in the hammock. I will most likely leave it pulled tight at all times, so I see no need to have the cord lock coming in near my feet, which is why I only have one grommet. Anyway, here is the issue I am having... Using Gutermann Mara70, size 90 needle, tension is set normally to 7.5 out of 9 (which I feel is really high to begin with, but is what is needed to give me even tension between top and bottom). Keep in mind that I am sewing in a piece of shock cord that is not visible in the pic, but is between the top and bottom fabric. I first tried to sew it with standard tension and it balled up underneath, then loosened up and it got worse, so I tightened it all of the way to 9 and here is the result. This is a little better than when it was at 7.5. Here is both a top and bottom shot.

Thoughts? I can't adjust the tension any tighter. Is that even the problem? I was just going to pull the thread and hand stitch...
Thanks in advance!!
