Just got back into Columbia, I didn't leave the campsite until about 5:00 because the weather was just too good to not be outside in. Clear blue skies and temps around 75, light breeze, perfect paddling weather. Broke camp around 3 and then just lay back in my hammock and watched the sun go down.

Redbank did indeed make it out there yesterday evening, eyepatch and all. Turns out he's a pretty cool guy who makes a mean chicken bog and not, as Mr. Gravy has speculated, a 14 year old kid messing with us on the forums.

What happened to the pictures of us being creative with the fenceposts to get past the locked gate?

Thanks to everyone who came out and made this an awesome hang! The food was good, the company excellent, and weather was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

Sorry I missed the fun Friday night! It's amazing how a day and a half of sleep helps heal you though! Made it out Saturday for supper. Cooked about half the chicken bog , sbroam made up some cornbread and Salmonofdoubt supplied a terrific cobbler and we ate well!! My better half had in no uncertain terms laid the law down that I had to come home that evening though. That is the hardest thing to tear yourself away from a fire with good company and terrific weather!

Look forward to doing it again in hopefully the not to distant future! A Chatooga trip in the spring would be great and there are tons of great places here in the Midlands and up in Pisgah National Forest (NC) to hammock.
