What if you had done two, to layer together, but do the inner one at 40" and the outer at 45"? That way they'd be laid with their seams offset from each other to eliminate cold spots. You could put snaps on them of course.
Iv'e got plans for something in that arena. I like the idea of being able to separate this, so this can fit the bill of a summer quilt... For those nights when it's warm enough to not need much, or else be uncomfortably warm, but still need something for the 3am and cozy factor.

I don't have a Costco near me. I would like to get a hold of a couple of those throws!
I'd like to make some quilts for my pooch.

I used your design for the TQ on two of them. worked out great. thank you for this. my goal was to be able to use one for slightly cold temps and slip them together when need be. tried it out last night (low of 29deg) worked great.
I picked up a couple of these on Saturday. Man you guys are so talented, I just hope mine can turn out usable.
[QUOTE=bser272;1553639]That's great, so you just stuff one into the other for extra warmth? Got any pictures?
Yep, exactly. I did change it and do the shinny side in thinking it would reflect some heat.

I have two more on the way (parents have membership) to make the boss a tq/ug, so I might slip 3 together to see what happens. I agree, other than stuff sacks this was my first major sewing project. The seam ripping was the biggest pita. I went baffle to baffle, ripped the top seam, pulled some of the thread out then pulled about 7 stitches at the bottom and pulled the thread. A few beers helped too.
