    Is my tarp to right?

I don't even know if this is possible but I ask anyway.

I just rigged my tarp with an over the tarp ridge line and it seems after I tighten it down, the height drops significantly. Is this normal?

Yes, it's fairly normal. Pulling the tarp a little tighter before staking it out will take a little of that out but it's perfectly fine as is.

I like to get it to about the height I want it BEFORE staking out. But after staking, it will drop a little. I like it nice and tight, and right

Rig it right off the d-rings with two seperate lines and you will decrease some of the ridgeline cat-cut sway.

I do the same but with Tato gear stretch clips. Hook Tato to rings each end . Tighten Ridgeline first. Then stretch Tato to tighten tarp. There will be a smaller sag than you have pictured.

CRL above the tarp will always give some degree of "bowing"; depends on the cut of the tarp. As Shug said; tie outs on either end ofthe hammock will eliminate most of this, as will a ridgeline run under the tarp but i don't recommend it!

The way you have it is just fine!

If this is the backyard I'm jealous. Tarp looks fine to me.

+1 on just running the ridgeline under to help with sag. I havnt had much of an issue with water trailing the line down any further than the rings on the tarp and I like that I have an additional line to hang things from to dry. Otherwise, looks exactly like mine when I do the crl over the top.
