Did some backyard camping with my Luke's 90 plus a Amok tarp last week.
Was a lot of rain for 3 days but the hammock was 100% dry the hole week.

    So that combo works good.

Few pics from the past trip. CF tarp gave some great coverage.

Hmm. I bought the gl for use with my amok and 90 degree. It's a really well made tarp. Admittedly, I don't have much experience with tarps yet, so be easy on me. I'm having a hard time pitching it so that there is enough coverage on the foot end. Although, the tarp is not as wide as the amok tarp, I think there is plenty of coverage as your pictures show. I can't seem to get it pitched right though. Any tips?

Well, I returned that tarp. I just wasn't feeling it. If I wasn't so green at pitching tarps, I probably could've made it work, but I was just always short on the foot end.

A custom tarp from Simply Light Designs arrived recently. I haven't set it up with the Amok yet, but did with the 90 degree, and all I can say is WOW! Awesome. This is the one boys and girls. 9' ridgeline. 12 ft wide. Doors. pull outs.

With a 9' Ridgeline the tarp must be in contact with the 90° hammock suspension. Do you think that will be a problem? My cf from hammocktent is 7.5 and it just clears the suspension.

I was worried about that too, but its fine as long as the tarp straps are high enough. That was on about a 15 foot tree span. The tarp straps are about 6" below the hammock straps. I use stingers, so the hammock strap runs in the V.

I tend to look for trees 10-11 foot apart so the straps don't have to be up that high. SLD make great tarps so enjoy.
