Did I read correctly that it is 10+ feet long. What size tarp do you expect it will require?
Finally...someone took the best characteristics of the Claytor Jungle hammock and improved upon them.
Regarding the spreader bar configuration....is there any reason this hammock couldn't be configured ,as an option, just like the Claytor with a bungee cord running through the loops and tied out in a triangle shape? This allows for use of different length spreader bars. There is of course maximum length which could be used but shorter lengths could also be used because the stretch of the bungee takes up the slack. This comes in real handy when trying to find a spreader bar lying around on the forest floor. I never bring spreader bars from home when camping with my Claytor. I always find something lying around and snap it off to the approximate length. It always works. The way this hammock is set up it seems like the spreader bar would have to be a much more precise fit making it a bit less versitile.
Also...the tarp from the Claytor Jungle would be a perfect fit for the Switch. It's 13 ft which would allow 1.5' of of overhang on each end.
I'm seriously considering buying one after resisting the tug of the BB for quite some time.

OK I'm on the verge or getting on the Switch list....I need knowledge first....what is the easiest/reliable way to creat a knot out of the fabric/end channel of the Switch so you can larkshead a WS to it...pics/video please.
Or for those already in possession of this hammock, could you not simply do an overhand knot in the end or is there not enough material or is it too ungainly due to the seem?

Feed your whoopie sling thru the fabric channel. Then pull the whoopie thru the closed/locked eye. Opie at whoOpie slings has a video, here.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
Too easy!
pull it through until the dead-eye shows then pull the rest of the whoopie through the dead eye!
no you-tube here big ugly firewall stops it
Well, you folks are describing one more unique plus for the Switchback. The ends do not require any special whipping or careful attention... just run a line through the channel and pull.
That means the proper fabric orientation for the gathered end is built in to the design, by the shape of the hammock before the ends are gathered.
There are other gathered end hammocks that will have different shapes, depending on how they are whipped.

Well I'm on the list,,,might make ME an nice Christmas present
Can't wait to whoopie it up and give it a hang.
Miguel, You can use the triangle shock cord set up for the net rigging if you want to vary the length of the spreader bars. We ship the hammock with the shock cord tied to the center loop, but you can retie it any way you like. The two end loops have the corners sewn to form a small pocket for the bars but the rest of the loop is open so running shock cord through them is no problem---John
I've ordered one I just couldn't resist!!
Let's see, now. That (and all the other gear this year) takes care of my Christmas presents through about 2022!
