I'm thinking the weight savings is in the 3-4 oz range. You get rid of 9' webbing on each side plus triangle (or cinch) buckles and replace with a few feet of amsteel. My 6' straps plus whoopies from Arrowhead Equipment came in at around 3-4oz. Brandon specs his webbing suspension at just over 7 oz I think.

I can confirm the stock WBBB webbing is roughly 8oz for the straps, triangle rings and small loop of amsteel (YMMV I might have some sap or other dirt picked up during use). I don't know about the new buckles, they look heavy.

My Nano 7 + whoopies setup came in at around that same weight. Pretty remarkable that you can have an entire hammock+suspension for a few tenths of an ounce over the weight of the webbing style suspension alone.

does this setup have bug netting? If not, i would only use it in winter. Thats where that weight savings would really come into play. Currently my setup for WBB 1.1 DBL layer + whoppies + + hugggers is 28oz

No netting on the Nano 7 setup. You give up a lot of room and comfort going from a WBBB, but the weight savings is indeed substantial.
