Drybag/ stuff sack/ bishop bag for hammock and UQ?

What do y'all do on a thru hike to pack away your hammock, sleeping bag and UQ quickly, easily, and to keep them dry? I have a bottom compartment in my backpack that is juust barely big enough to hold my TQ, sleeping bag and hammock if stuffed in there loose without compression sacks. They're too oddly shaped in sacks. I'm afraid to have them in there without some moisture barrier... hopefully I can find a dry bag or something that will accommodate them all and fill the space well, or DIY some sort of water resistant bishop bag so I don't even have to take the UQ off and oof: it just stays set up?

Is the bottom compartment of your pack completely separate from the main compartment or can you remove a divider to make it one big main compartment? If yes, then you could use a trash compactor bag as a pack liner. If no, then use the bottom compartment for something else and use the trash compactor bag in just the main compartment and put your quilt, sleeping bag and anything you want to ensure stays dry in the compactor bag.

Yeah, it can be unzipped and made into one big compartment. I kinda like having it cut off though and accessible from the bottom so I dont have to dig through clothes to pull out the bag, and it keeps the heavier stuff up higher where it belongs. I've thought trash compactor bags before, but they get caught in the zipper and wrecked really fast. I think I'm going to experiment with making my own water proof/resistant stuff sack big enough to loosely hold everything, and stuff that in the bottom compartment. any recommendations on fabric?

I pack that way, hammock, bugnet, UQ, TQ and pillow all in a roll top dry bag rolled up to the width of my pack and stashed in the bottom. Easy setup & take down, I skip the bishop hole to keep the bag sealed. I love my miskito hammock but rarely carry it.

On the PCT, I simplified my setup, and saved lots of time- it payed off to have a system that I could pack and unpack in just a few minutes with the least number of steps. I used a trash compactor bag. Had an oversized bishop bag for hammock + UQ since it saved a step to keep the UQ attached to the hammock. I sewed the bishop bag large so it flattened like a pancake in the bottom of the trash compactor bag.

I'd like a bishop bag large enough for my quilts and hammock. I can't sew, though. I remember reading or seeing somewhere a big enough sea to summit big bishop bag but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I could get one? I'm thinking I might have to see if I can get one custom made.

I've been using a Lazy Slug Tube for several years. I really like the convenience and protection.

The Lazy Slug looks good, but I'm looking for something with a little compression. I have a sock that will fit everything but I have to manually push it all down in the pack. Even with winter I'm trying to stay below a 58 liter pack. Bishop bags have worked well with hammock and tarp combos in 3 season use.

Sewing is hard! I need to patch my gear from wear and campfires, Elemantal, but I think it'd be easier to use glue and tape!
