    Tarp Storage and Dutchware

I have a mamajamba tarp and I recently ordered a wasp and dutch hook to go with the ridgeline. They both are of the good quality I've come to expect from Dutch, and neither piece of hardware looks like it has any sharp corners. Do you store the wasp and hook separately or in the same stuff sack? Any worries about it punching a hole in the tarp?

I store 6' of cordage on each corner and side, 4 plastic figure-9s, and 2 Dutch tarp flys. No problems after 4 years on either my superfly or mamajamba. Those wasps looks a but more aggressive, so I'd like to see what others have to say about those.

I didn't use my dutch hook or wasp for very long, but didn't have any concerns when i did
I use the long end of the CRL to wrap around the tarp before it goes in the stuff sack so i reckoned there was a very minimal chance of damage

I have nanoseeum netting I'm going to use for snakeskins but haven't had a chance to sew. Maybe they will provide a little more protection. I'm also thinking that maybe I could just use soft shackles for the rigging and detach the tarp from ridgeline completely.

I have fleaz on shock cord to each of my tie outs and was worried about this as well so I used a sharpening stone to smooth any sharp edges on the hardware.

I have two Wasps and Fleaz as well. Dutch smooths the edges and softens the corners so well that I can't imagine them causing any issues. I roll the fleaz into the center and pull the skins down. I coil one ridge line and wasp, stuff it into the bottom of the stuff sac; followed by the rest and finishing with the final coil and wasp. Never had any issues.

I found I had to do some touching up as well.... There were some rough edges... Or rougher than I like around high dollar material anyway.

I have a flyz on 1 end and a dutch hook on the other. I slide the skins over the tarp, then figure 8 the continuous ridgeline ends on my thumb and pinky, coil the last 6 inches and through the hole. I have not had this configuration snag the tarp or the skins.

I think I've decided not to store the ridgeline+bling with the tarp just because I'm paranoid about tears and for convenience. This weekend I messed with storing the tarp in a snakeskin and keeping two prusik or klemheist loops right on the ridge line. I then just attached the ends of the tarp to the loops with small carabiners. I hate that it normally seems to take forever to set up my tarp, and this definitely cut down on all the knot tying and adjustment time. Haven't field tested it in crappy weather, but it seems like a solid setup.
