Hey everyone, wanted to toss out a quick intro and hello to everyone. I live in northeast Arkansas and grew up tent camping but lost my way and didn't go for decades...I have no good excuse why. The last couple years the kids have started getting big enough to enjoy camping so we have had a few outings and loved every minute. My brother has talked me into doing our first hiking weekend trip and my oldest son and I are overly excited. We are making plans for doing the butterfield trail at Devils den state park just outside of Fayetteville Arkansas some time next spring. While doing my research on what gear I needed I stumbled across this site and have spent hours being overwhelmed by information overload and shugs entertaining videos. I'm in the process of searching for the right equipment for me and I have lots of ideas and questions but I'll start a real thread for all that.
So much for a quickie, huh? Lol. Anyways, I'm Chris and a hiking/hammock newb, nice to meet all of you!
