As a thought - I know some of you have smoke houses or use a hot tent - what if we had a group / community hot tent as a warming hut if needed.

Makes sense but please smack me if I try to haul in that 5-man Cdn. Army tent again! I might be testing something out at Valens that would fit the bill and be a whole lot lighter. More on that later.

Man this sounds like a sweet adventure. Will keep my eye on it for sure.

Killarney's not that far away from Michigan. Well, ok, it's far from everywhere, but who's counting?

Not sure, but those dates sound pretty sweet. Killarney's at the top of the list, but I was even thinking of checking out some possible Crown Land spots west of the park as an alternate to allow for fishing and bushcrafting/shelter building. Paddle or hike, I'm good either way. Who knows, it might even be fun!

Did you guys settle on a Recon. date? I would be up for an overnight-er with a day of hiking. Unfortunately I have plans Dec 5-6.

That weekend's proving to not work out too well for me. Ironically, I PM'd Highboy a few hours before your post.

I think Lofty's intereted in the mid-week so far. I'm in for both weekends at a minimum.. As for where; flagging tape at the carpark/trailhead and an agreed upon lake might work.

Well, it looks like the north shore of lake huron is starting to freeze. Hopefully the lakes in Killarney will be safe to travel before the end of January.
