While I didn't get to get outside this weekend because I work in retail I did get some time out last weekend. I must have sat here for over an hour just enjoying the peace.image.jpeg

My OptOutside for today was a 4.8 mile hike through the piney woods, followed by some hammock time with a hot apple cider. Ended up playing with some suspensions on my hammock. Beautiful day here today and looking good tomorrow too.

I didn't get to hang yesterday, but did spend all day in the woods. And it was hammock related. Have a friend with huge acreage that told me I was welcome to cut a trail half way up the hill on his property and clear a spot for camp/test/bushcraft site. The property is only 15 minutes from my place.

In spite of bleeding like a stuck pig from cutting through massive briar thickets, I had a blast. I jumped so many deer and turkey.

I only took one pic. Stumbled across a dead cedar that had to be a couple hundred years old. Found this. It measured from the tips of my fingers to 2/3 up my forearm. I could have set a flat screen on it !

Back at it today, in conjunction with some seam sealing on my Superfly.

Did not get a picture but took the dog and my hammock for a 5 mile hike in the local park/woods. It took me all afternoon as I fell asleep in the hammock for a couple of hours. 70F in No. VA yesterday so it was pretty much a perfect outdoor kind of day.

I miss my dog on the trail. He had to retire due to spinal issues.

If you're not as happy as your dog on the trail, then you're doing it wrong !

Here in East Tennessee we've had 60's weather. It has been remarkable !
