So I have an "el cheapo" sleeping bag that I used as an overquilt during the summer very successfully, until my dog had a fit and got her teeth in it. So, it now has a bunch of holes and is no longer good for me. You could certainly harvest the down and use it for something else, or try and repair it, etc... but I have neither the desire nor the equipment. My loss and dog-cursing is your gain. I'd like $10 to cover shipping, you get down and original compression sack.
I don't have anything to weigh it with, but I think it would be a fine amount to make a jacket, etc - even just experiment with DIY down, cheaply.
Here is the original bag - it is the mint ext., lime interior if that makes a difference.
