    HH zipper mod question

Hey all, I'm considering the zipper mod for my HH. Its all about options. My question is this, does the zipper mod affect the ability to use the HH as a chair? This is one of my favorite options, love setting up camp, sitting under the tarp in my HH chair and cooking dinner, if its raining its even better.

My concern is that the mod would put stress on the bug net mod and tear it.

Not at all. It actually is better because you can stow the bugnet away. And you can go from laying down to sitting up vise versa. I forget teh number but it is the mod that goes all the way down one side and half the way on the far side. I guess you would have to be a little careful teh net is stowed away and you aren't going to pull it sitting on it, but that is a no brainer.

I believe zipper mod #2 is the most popular. It totally changed my outlook on my HH Exped. I liked it before, but now I absolutely LOVE it.

Get the mod! You won't regret it.

as Dutch says its better. I use a detachable ridgeline when Im loungin around doing chores, it makes for a chair feel. I have mod #2 which Dutch describes. I was growing tired of getting in and out of my ULBP and the zipper mod was a godsend for Hennesey Hammocks, truly a better hammock now.

To answer your question directly....No it does not affect the chair ability nor the structural integrity of the hammock imo.

The only thing I can add to what has been said is that you need to get that hammock in the mail to 2Q & ZQ.

The only negative I can think of was the amount of time I waited to send mine to them. All that time it was just sitting in the closet, could have been at their place thus speeding up the time when I could enjoy my HH even more.

You will really like the #2 Mod. It adds flexibility, convenience, and is better for a chair set up than unmodified.

The #2 Mod will make the HH so versatile, you'll think you own more than one hammock. Best purchase I've made in the hammock world.

No stress, no worries. Best mod EVER to HH.

If you get the zipper mod, ask 2Q to determine the best way to decide which side to put the long zipper on. Different people have different preferences. I sleep on my left side so I put the long zipper on my left side. Makes getting out of the hammock easier.

I had two modified at the same time. Had one on the left, the other on the right. That way, when I set up the "honey moon suite" we open to each other.
