Hey guys, i am working out of town all week and dont have much time to prep food for the group to share. It seems that there might be enough food to feed an army, but I want to bring stuff to share/add to a meal. Does anyone have suggestions that i could pick up? I also plan to bring some Jim Beam

I would say bring at least a pound of bacon for sure. but it seems we might be short on some sweets.

I was thinking about making up a batch of chili but I hear the call for sweets, and Mrs. Donk has graciously volunteered to bake up something. :-)

Everybody coming north, drive safe; looks like your winter driving skills will be put to the test.

We are 2 days away from the trip and it looks like the bulk of the snow will be in southern Michigan, uckily the forecast still shows a couple inches of the fresh stuff :
http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/van.../2211863?day=3 . Temps are perfect for a winter trip, but they'll be some high winds.

We are still planning on meeting at the Big Boy in Gaylord at 8:00 AM Thursday morning. Ed & Aaron (Turkey & Squirrelbait) will be there. Driving conditions may be dicey heading north, so if we can't make breakfast at 8:00, we will head direct to Green Timbers. Wishing everyone a safe journey north. See you at the cabin!

WOW those temps sure sky rocketed But still ok as long as they don't climb any higher. WTF Saturday?? Partly cloudy and windy. High 37F. Winds W at 20 to 30 mph. I love to hate the weather forecasts. About 3" for us. About 6-8+ inches in mid-Michigan, and FAST! So hopefully the roads are in OK condition driving up.

Went from 7° to 23° for a low Saturday...way to hit that.

I should arrive at the lot around 9:15PM and into camp by 11PM Thursday night. Bringing 1lb bacon and 750ml Beam. I hate plastic bottles, but I need the light weight...plus it will burn

    See you all soon!

What about paper plates? Would those be handy? I didn't know how hard core we were going but thought those would burn nicely and save on the dishes.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
