Checking in from the NW Georgia Mountains

I have been lurking on the forums for awhile now and I have finally decided to join in. I am located in the North West Georgia mountains about 5 minutes from Alabama and 45 Minutes from Tennessee. I enjoy Hiking, Backpacking, Bushcraft, Kayaking, Biking, Caving and just about any other activity in the great outdoors. I look forward to the possibility of meeting some local hangers on the forum. I am happy to be here!

Welcome to the forum. You are in a outdoor mecca. Some very good trails in Tennessee, Alabama and all over norther GA. I'm slowly gathering gear and hope to start hanging in the spring. Maybe we will run into one other someday.

Welcome from NE Ga. If you want to meet some fellow hangers head east in a couple weeks to the Raven Cliffs hang.

You are correct the Pinhoti passes just 8 miles from my house and the great eastern trail passes within 2 miles. I spend a lot of time on the Pinhoti trail and the other smaller trail systems in my area. If you are ever on the south western end of the Pinhoti give me a shout i am always looking for someone to join my on the trail.

I would love to but I have prior engagements for the Christmas holidays they would keep me from traveling on those dates. I will be keeping an eye out for other hang events in the future. I would love to spend time with other hangers to learn from them and take a look at their setups!
