    Lightbulb UK Hang?

    Hi

Seems to be a lot of UK hangers on here now and maybe we need a meet up some time next year?
Questions to ask are where would people be willing to travel to?
And can we find a site with sufficient trees we can hang in?

To get things started I live in the South of the UK near the New Forest and would be willing to travel 3-4 hours. I do know of a woodland near Hereford that could be accommodating depending on numbers. What we really need is a Scout site!!

Once BCUK is back up, (they are having major problems with their server atm) have a look at the meetings sub-forum, you will find there are quite a few organised regular meets, as well as the ad hoc "who wants to go somewhere" meets. Its surprising the number of Bushcrafters in the UK hang, although with the amount of rain we get, perhaps not.

And if you venture up to the civilised part of the Country, you don't have to stealth camp either , Although I must admit the New Forest is a really lovely part of the UK.

    Cheers

Nigel As soon as I get a bigger motorcycle I'd like to meet up.Pencil me in for the future have a 125 at the moment.
As for Hereford yeah really nice part of the UK check out around the Radnorshire area Clun forest .Recently went to the Hafren forest mid west wales absolutely lovely and very hammock friendly in a stealthy kind of way.The amount of forests in Wales is incredile.Did you get my Whoopie sling post?

    Hi Stephen

Looking for a more official site rather than stealth and maybe less 'bush crafty' than some of the BCUK ones?

CSB - yes I did get the message and could not reply for some reason? Will try again later. Wales has many places to camp in a stealth kind of way but a place with permission may be better for a hammock meet if people are not into walking and that.

Yes that could be worth a look. Savernake Forrest near Malrborough has a proper but no amenities campsite that may allow hammocks but is a Forrest Holidays site so may be funny about it.

You intrested in a hanging get together?

Sounds like a good plan. We did a lot of testing a couple of winters ago before heading off to French mountains. A bit of karrimat is good tobtake just incase you get some chill underneath.

I think there may be enough UK hangers about to get something going next year.

Yes a site/wood with permission for hammocks would be good. If only a few of us can always stealth!
