What kind of Hammock Camping do you do?

Reading all these posts the past few months has me realizing that people state they have preferred ways to set up their hammock "system" that works for them. What is usually not mentioned is what kind of camping they typically use this system in. Im learning that the recent UQ discussions (shorter vs full length) that backpackers are more apt to look at shorter UQ's... That got me wondering what kind of camping we all do... Knowing what kind of camping your system works for you may not apply to another form of hammock camping? I'm not sure if Im doing the poll right, but I figured we must have a bunch of categories we hammock camp in.

It would be interesting to see how many do a certain kind of camping most of the time. Are there others not mentioned here?

For the first time, I've done more backpacking than car camping this year. I hope to continue that trend next year.

Hooch ... you be welcome to join us up at the Big Ditch!

I've used my hammock set up two or three times for camping .... near the Jeep ... but by far it's either back packing or the occasion set up in the woods behind the house to sit and discuss the woes of the world with my dog Spencer. He mostly looks out for rogue squirrels!

Going to take Spencer to the Gorge camping this year for the first time.

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

Car camping is harder for me. Usually end up doing it in campgrounds that cater to RVs and they don't tend to have a lot of trees....

I did a ton of backpacking this year tho. I do enjoy that much more.

    Bike Camping

I've just gotten into Bicycle Hammocking.

I can load my mtn. bike up a lot heavier than my pack.

    Car, Kayak, Backyard.

Depending on the season and my mood! I have been doing a lot of car camping lately with group hangs here in South Carolina. I do quite a bit of backyard camping with my dogs. Mostly to test new gear and to have a quick getaway. I am also getting into Kayak camping with my new Wilderness Systems Tsunami Kayak.

Backpacking is where it's at, but the majority of my time spent hanging is up stairs in my spare room. Testing, resting, snozzing, man I love being able to just walk up stairs and drop into my BB and drift off into a nice slow sway, dream of trails and lakes and trees and fish, and stoves and.....I need to throw some bolts into the walls in the shop. What is a hammock gear production shop without a hammock?

We can only vote on one?

For me it entirely depends on the season. I tend to kayak camp in the summer and hike and camp in the winter, with a few car camping trips added no matter what the season.

I camp out of my truck. But not in campgrounds...

    This is my campground..

    That spot is located at N47 25.593 W87 42.789

    Or

    Located at N45 59.638 W83 30.028

I really need to get back into backpacking though. I grew up in Frederick, MD. Spent many a nite on the AT.
