great post hooch. i am so glad that you guys had a great hike despite your injury. in july my uncle(who really got me into backpacking) and myself, my 12 year old son, and three other friends, were hiking the thunder swamp trail in ne pa, and he slipped on a wet rock(tst is super rocky!). his knee swelled up like a cantaloupe! we made camp, and he insisted on not "ruining" our three day hike. we day hiked the next day and on the third day he left 3 hours before us and hiked himself and his pack back to the car. when he went to the doctor he found out that he had completely seperated his knee! why do we all think that walking around in the woods with swollen knees is so much fun?

Great trip report Hooch. The pictures really sell the story.
    Sorry about the knee.
    Hope it's doing better.

Yes great trip report and like others the pics brought back memories of that section. I did Maryland in late spring and got hit with a surprise cold snap...ended up making a body size pile of leaves each night and hanging the hammock so when in it I could nestle into the leaves.
    Thanks for the memories!

So glad you will have great memories from the hike and MAHHA hang (except the knee). Let me know anytime you need a shuttle during a hang. It's easy to help out! Dancer, very cool that you chose to hike the hike to Harpers Ferry. Did you enjoy it?

Great pictures and great description of your and Dancer's week on the trail. I enjoyed meeting both of you at MAHHA and look forward to seeing you both again. I hope that your knee heals well. Dancer...you are a real trooper. I'm impressed.
