i purchased a costco throw blanket, and used a sewing machine's preset for button holes to create holes where i could put on shock cord for both the suspension and the head/foot cinches. the plan is to use this indoors so it'll get a lot of use/abuse of me getting in and out it. does anyone see any potential problems with using only button holes to suspend the quilt?
where the corners are suspended, i doubled the blanket so that the shock cord for suspension would go through two layers of blanket. to cinch the head and foot ends, i just threaded shock cord through one button hole per square. it's surprisingly warm, and i can immediately feel heat reflected onto my back when i get into the hammock. the coverage is amazing when i toss around in the hammock, and it doesn't slip out from under me at all since i'm using most of the blanket (two squares are folded over on the foot end, and one square is folded over on the head end).
picture of head end is attached, which shows one square folded over.
