Deleting Photos from personal gallery

Hi,

Does anybody know how to do this?

I highlight my images, but I can not delete them from my personal gallery. I understand if a photo is used in a post HF owns it. I wish to delete the remainder of my photos that are not within a post. The ones in my gallery.

Please tell me how to do this. Thanks mods!

Wait... Hammock Forums "owns" your picture if used in a post?

It's a giant PIA.

You need to delete each image individually.

1) Click on the image in your gallery
2) On the lower left side of the screen click edit image
3) On the lower right side of the screen check the box for "To delete this image, check the box to the left and then click the 'Delete This Image' button below."
4) Click the button "Delete This Image". follow on screen instructions (I think it's just a confirmation dialog box).

Now do this for every image. Have fun!

Boston has provide the correct method for deleting images from the Gallery so I won't repeat.

As to HF "owning" your photos that is not correct.

This is the from TOS you agreed to when joining HF

VIII. Copyright. Hammock Forums assumes copyright to all material posted on HammockForums.net.

A. Hammock Forums, HammockForums.net, HF, and the orange sun with black hanger HF logo are copyrighted material. Such material is not appropriate for use by individuals without express permission of the HF moderating team.

4.You may not upload any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or this website.


5.By uploading an image,
(a) you grant Hammock Forums Gallery permission to use the image on any Hammock Forums Gallery page or Hammock Forums page

and

(b) you agree to indemnify Hammock Forums Gallery and hold Hammock Forums Gallery harmless from any and all claims and expenses, including attorneys' fees, arising from the image and/or your failure to comply with this policy.


6. The decision of the Hammock Forums Gallery moderators on removing content or banning users is taken by the moderators and is final.



Any images found to break these rules will be removed with no warning. Anyone who uploads an image that violates our rules may be banned from using Hammock Forums Gallery without any prior notice.

In the case of violation of our policy, we may share any and all information we hold on the user concerned with any interested 3rd parties. Child Pornography related issues will be reported to legal authorities without exception.

If you believe one of our members has uploaded images to Hammock Forums Gallery that break these rules, please use the 'report image' link so we can take appropriate action.



NOTES:

If somebody is using a picture that you uploaded, we suggest that you contact the individual who posted it. Unless the image violates our policy, we're not able to remove images if you don't own the copyright of this image.

Who owns the photos in our personal gallery? When we upload a photo, does ATTtroll own it? If that is the case, why pretend that we have personal galleries? If this is how it is when did it change? When Just-Jeff and all of the other key founding members left?! Strange that we can not delete our own images

Ditto. Just tested it out and no problem in my "albums". The OP does bring up a good point but this thread may be in the wrong section and perhaps should be moved to the "discussion" section. I have a feeling that this topic has been addressed in the past....

Most topics discussed on these forums have been discussed in the past. However, as the membership is dynamic any discussion that had value in the past is worthy of discussion for the benefit of newer members.

Hammockforums.net has evolved from something akin to a small cottage vendor to something resembling a more corporate personality. It is appropriate to consider how that evolution should affect how membership interacts with the company ie; surrender copyright to a photo simply by sharing it here. Does the law allow transfer of copyright of a photo simply by demanding it? What value does a prolific photo poster (fallkniven for example) add to the forum for no compensation? Everyone loves Shug's videos but, if Hammockforums.net really owns them, could they prevent Shug from capitalizing from his own YouTube channel?

This is as worthy a discussion as any other poster here today.

i must've missed the other thread. but is there a way to delete images that you uploaded to be attached to one of your posts? it seems i can only see them when i click on "manage attachments" while trying to put up a new post/thread, but can't delete them from there.
