    The bed got evicted

Well, our bed got kicked out of the bedroom and the hammocks are now up. We're using pipe stands and they take up a little more room than I thought they would. If we ever get our own place we'll have to anchor to the wall somehow. My wife's stand is a 6' tall by 11' long 1" pipe stand with elbows on top. Mine is a 5' tall by 11' long 1" pipe stand with T's on top. I'm not sure if it's the 5' vs 6' or T vs elbow but mine seems to have less movement in it. She has 1" webbing around the uprights with strap anchors and I'm using a amsteel lead around the top T with hammock anchors for suspension. If you have a wood floor make sure you have something under the bottom T. There is a small ridge from the casting that will dig into the floor. We have a 4" strip of carpet under the legs to hopefully avoid marks on the floor.

Nice I'm "evicting" my bed this weekend (finally!). I'm using a tato gear hammock stand with 1"EMT. Your right about the stands taking up taking up space, but then, so does that soon to be gone queen size bed. I'm hanging in a dutchware DL hexon 1.0 11ft.

Awesome. congrats! My You're-snoring-get-out bed was torn down a couple months ago. Sadly, the mattress is sitting against the wall looking very lonely. My wife made me hold onto it in case I "came to my sense and realized this hammock thing indoors was silly."

    Congratulations!

It's a big step for previously ignorant Northerners who didn't see the hammock as a place to sleep. At least that was the case for me. Ha ha!

If you feel a constant pull to go sleep in the hammock throughout the day, don't worry, that's normal. Eventually, sleeping indoors in a hammock will become your normal, and you'll be able to focus on other things.

    Sweet dreams!

I have one of those too with the 2x2 legs. It wouldn't fit in the bedroom though. I really like it but the tripod legs add a little over 6' to the ridge line length.

We've had a hammock stand in the house for a couple years now. This was just the big move into the bedroom. So, there isn't much of a novelty factor at this point. I might have to get a ridge line on her hammock though, she currently has cloths hanging on mine to dry.

Ah, okay, well then, you're way past that.

Maybe just being able to take the hammock down easily and replacing it with a rope would work for the laundry?

Not a bad idea. I'm not sure if she would go to the effort of putting up a new line when my ridge line is right there.

I have an ikea bed with drawers underneath. I am brainstorming the most effective way the cut the whole bed in half and stack the two on top of each other. So I can use the shelves. And move my setup to the floor instead of over the bed.
