    Fleece Hats

Just throwing this out there for people who like to try new things with their thread injectors.

I decided to try a little project a while ago, and make my own fleece hat. After all, fleece material is super cheap if you aren't picky. There are always scraps in fabric stores and Wally World that will work. I wanted something warm and dry to put on for sleeping in during winter camp outs. I came across a youtuber calling herself Crafty Gemini. Here's a link.

So I made myself a little ear-flappy hat for practice. Of course, my wife found this humorous, but next thing I know, she comes home with a bag of cutesy patterned fleece and a list of kids on our Christmas list. I can't complain. I did it to myself!

It was pretty easy. So I tweaked it. I added some neck material and a "visor" to pull over my face when it gets chilly!

It might work. We will see.

    Great idea! Thanks!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

I forgot to add, since it is reversible (black/light grey), I can play Dart Vader or Zane the Lego ice ninja with my kids.

Nice work. I have stuff sitting around to try something like this with APEX. Figuring out how to make it the right size is what I'm worried about.

Fleece is pretty stretchy, so sizing was easy. Pretty much one size fits all.

Did you download her adult pattern? I didn't know if it would be big enough.

Yes. It was big enough. Just to give you an idea, my head circumference is about 23". If you are using fleece, though, the stretchiness will accommodate a wide range. It would be really easy to go bigger. Just cut a short distance from the pattern. Once you make a test hat, if you do, you will know if you should go bigger.

Thanks for your quick reply. I picked up a remnant with making a hat in mind, when shopping with my bride last Wednesday.
