    UQ recommendations for WBBB XLC?

Just trying to not make an expensive mistake: I'm curious if there are any UQs that work better with the Warbonnet XLC than others? Are there any that won't work? I realize WB has the Yeti. It's certainly a contender. I'm just curious as to what all the options might be that are compatible with the XLC.

Ideally, I'd like to find something that I can pair with a 2QZQ UQP also.

I'm in the process of transitioning from a Hennessy Asym system to the WBBB XLC. I'm flush in JRB TQs. But I doubt the JRB Nest is going to work with the XLC. (Haven't even tried yet. Just assuming.)

Since I'm in the process of "doing my homework," I just wanted to double-check here and make sure I'm not overlooking any unknown variables. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Don't know why your JRB Nest wouldn't work.

I have a Yeti. Beautifully made. You have to be sold on the 3/4 idea though. Not that's it's a bad option to consider.

An UGQ Zeppelin or HG Incubator would offer some options as far as colors, more temp choices, and secondary suspension. Those are the two others that immediately come to mind.

There are a few UQ's on the market that are made to fit specific hammocks....but most are made to fit just about anything including the XLC. Nothing particularly special about the XLC that would make it need a specific quilt. So to narrow it down tell us all more about your use and needs/wants in a quilt. Nothing about any quilt on the market would have anything to do with the use of the Undercover.

I don't see why your Nest wouldn't work.... I have a Loco Libre Habanero 20* and I love it! It's just like George's website says, "it hugs me like my momma a would"... Awesome workmanship, fits great, and I've used it under 20* now and still been toasty warm. I do pair mine with an Argon 90 2QZQ UQP.

I have an XLC and love my HG Incubator. I am a big guy (broad shoulders) and sometimes wish I had gotten it in a wide version (one extra panel/tube) so I had more room to play/keep it on my shoulder with. I also use a 2QZQ UQP and its a money set up.

I also think most quality underquilts will be great fits. My HammockGear under quilts fit my Wbbb most excellent. No issues with the shelf.
I think the xlc would be identical in that respect. If someone has a different opinion I would like to know as well.

You're probably right, it should work. I initially just assumed it would not. There is only one way to find out. I'll try to get it up in the yard this weekend and see.

Have a friend with the XLC. He likes his 3-season Jarbridge from Arrowhead. It is a nice looking UQ. I expect most any UQ would work. WB does ship a little piece of cord with the Yeti to use with the XLC as a suspension extender.

Thanks Tom. I'll give the Nest a try.

As for the 3/4, I think I'm sold -- as opposed to a 1/2 UQ you mean? Or a full?

Oh, you know us: We all want it to 1) weigh nothing, 2) pack down to nothing, 3) keep us warm and toasty, but not too toasty, between 0 and 90, 4) cost next to nothing. 5) set itself up

Seriously though, glad to know I have so many possibilities to choose from. It makes this decision almost difficult. Although I'm sure whatever I end up with will work well.

I'm looking for a 3-season UQ. But my "3-seasons" tend to be fall, winter and spring. I usually don't backpack in the summer. Too hot. Too buggy. Too many people. Most of my trips are in the central Appalachians, and most of the time a 20 degree set up has worked fine. However, I've noticed the older I get, the colder I sleep.

I see the Flamethrower is rated to 30. Would it be possible to overstuff it to make it a 20? If so, how many extra ounces of down would you recommend?

Is a Flamethrower reversible? (As in olive on one side and brown on the other?) I think I read it was in your FAQ.

    Thanks for your advice.
