You forgot Best Dressed camper! --- Alan!

ALAN WAS STYLIN! Although Hogn8ter was a close second with that way cool scarf.

This was by far the best first campout I've ever had with a group. But we have to wait long enough for me to get some new gear before we can do it again! I NEED MORE SHOW AND TELL!

Old Gringo .... Thanks for awakening the sleeping firebug in all of us ... My wife had to stop me from cutting down our trees when I got home.

So ... how in the heck do you top an event like this? Hanging hammocks on a cruise ship?

That was very cool of everyone to show off their stuff. I was too tired last night, but tonight I'm going to make my tarp ridgeline per your instructions.

We missed you buddy, but don't worry, we did talk about you so you weren't forgotten. We need to get out together again soon.

I agree. Alan's buff modeling was great - I hope the forum group buy gets done soon so I can have mine.

Not too worried about topping this one... just need to have another one.

Chris and I talked gear all the way home too. So many things that I had never thought about before that now that I know about them, I "NEED" them. In fact, I now "need" an old washer tub, a tripod, a minty blast, a new tarp, a gear hammock/pack cover, a Kelly Kettle, a buff, another new knife or two, a headlamp with the red filter, a new "zip lock" storage container for my stove, another dutch oven, and even though it's early... I could go for a Shiner Bock.

In addition to the show and tell; the impromptu knife seminar and the whoopie sling "arts and crafts time" were very helpful. (I now have bald spots on my arms thanks to my freshly sharpened knives.)

I loved the Kelly Kettle demo;the Ribz pack conversation; Rat's instructions and Captn's splicing coaching for the "diy impaired"; Bottomless Pit's strumming; frisbee in the dark with Gage; KerMegan's sinus clearing soup (had two bowls) and my new Jerry Chair; Randy's beans; AMS' chili - (the memory of the pre-disaster sneak preview I had of the chicken n dumpings still makes my mouth water; post midnight hot dogs and conversation with Lost Cause and Gracie; all the campfire time (thanks again to Old Gringo for bringing the forest and KerMegan for keeping the blaze a going; Spidennis' tarp collection (it really helped to see the different coverage and styles), and Richard, Randy, and Captn's pics.

I really loved how everyone was so friendly and open to each other, so willing to teach without being cocky, to share ideas, and to encourage one another.

Yep, time to get a thread going to plan the next one.

    Fun, Fun Fun!

I had a really good time. Good People, Good Place and decent, (sometimes perfect weather). Gotta do it again soon! It was really a hoot hanging with you all.
