I've been using my synthetic-fill insulated jacket in an REI stuff stack pillow case for the past year. Stuff sack pillow case weighs in at 3.45 oz, and it doubles as a stuff sack for my down sleeping bag.

I need something under my head and neck. I tried a lot of things... clothes in a stuff sack, Black rock pillow, etc and none of it was quite what I was looking for. I tried the Cub pillow from AHE but it was too small for my taste. The AHE Bear pillow was just right. I've been using it for several years now.

I bring my Mackinac Bridge on most trips now so I usually bring a Thermarest Compressible Pillow (small). I'm so used to packing it that it usually ends up in the pack even when I bring a gathered-end hammock.

My REI Co-op vest, when folded into the pocket, is the perfect pillow. I bring it with me for an extra layer when i get to camp, no need to wear it when sleeping, so to the pillow it goes!

Before this, i was ready to steal shug's idea about the JRB sleeves in the neck pillow case.

I use my cheap 32 degree down pack able coat as a pillow - works great for me

I just received my pillow from Dutch. Well, I take that back...my wife just received her pillow. I ordered it for her to try. I'll post her feedback as soon as I can, but our hammocks are getting some zipper treatment at 2QZQ at the moment.

I've never used a pillow, but I might try it out.

I normally just throw some clothes into a stuff sack for a pillow to save on space and weight. Seems to work fine for me but I have been out with guys who refuse to sleep without a pillow. All personal preference

I use a mini-pillow from Wal-mart in a HyperD 1.0 stuff sack when I'm car or backyard camping. When I'm backpacking I use the same stuff sack, but fill it up with whatever clothes I have on hand. My UQ is 7/8 and my strategy so far is to shade it towards covering my feet which leaves me exposed from the neck up, and a pillow rectifies that nicely.
