optimum hammock width for tall guy?

I am 6'3 tall. I am going to be getting a new 11' hammock soon, and I see that Dream Hammock (among others) offer wide hammocks. Their standard nominal width is 60 inches (minus a little for hems), but they offer a wide version up to 72 inches.

I am interested in hearing from tall people about their thoughts on the optimum hammock width for an 11 foot hammock.

    Thanks!

How much do you weigh? Width seems to matter more to people of wide girth, not necessarily height.

I have been at 250 for many years, but recently I am down to 230 with a goal of 220. Here is the 250 version:

I would think 60" wide would be fine for you. You don't look like you are of wide girth.

The main thing I am thinking about is trying to lay at an angle. I don't want my head/feet getting bunched up or having to hang over the edge. At the same time, I don't want to go too wide and have excess fabric that I don't really use.

I am somewhat new to the hammock thing. I have an Eno, which is not really big enough for me to sleep the whole night comfortably.

I know lots of 6'2" to 6'3" guys who do fine in 60" wide hammocks. Mainly the ones who appreciate width are those of wide girth. If you're not sure what you want, try a Dutch hammock first and see if 58" is wide enough. It will be cheaper than buying a Dream Hammock, and will give you an idea if that's the width for you.

Since you're concerned with width already, you may have to just go down that road and get a 72" hammock. I think eventually, you'll realize it's not necessary for someone of your size, and you're just carrying around a bunch of excess weight.

Im 6 ft 2 and abit wide myself and have a Dream hammovk Thunderbird that's 72 inche's wide and i love it, the extra width allows me to lay at any angle ang get a nice flat lay whenever i want, i am very happy that i went with the wider fabric.

I'm 6'6" under 200lbs and really like my 12' hammock ~60" wide. This is what I use in my house when ever possible. On camping trips I use an 11' ~60" for better tarp coverage. The most comfortable one I've ever been is is my 13' but its too long for camping. Would take too much if a tarp to cover.

It can't be a personal preference thing, and then "absolutely incorrect to say that wide hammocks are mostly preferred by people of larger girth." That's an absolute contradiction.

Be wary of folks selling wide hammocks.

Eight or ten, but irrelevant nonetheless. You're the premiere seller of wider hammocks, so I expect you to promote them, which you are doing.
