Nice trip report. I'm new to hanging and really only a year in to backpacking. My first trip was Sipsey and I have been three times so far. I'll admit my first trip 13 months ago was what a buddy of mine called the hardest rain he has ever hiked in. That's saying something for an AT/PCT thru hiker. Anyway, thanks for the pics. We plan on going the weekend of the 22nd. We are hoping for "crackin cold" as Shug says. This will be my first attempt at hanging for real.

Great trip report. Just got back for Bordon trail via Sipsey parking area. Muck has receded except at the usual ditch crossings. Nice looking set up. I too am breaking in my gear. Done a lot of day hiking out there on 201,202,209,206 and 204. I need to see how others have got their gear set up so hoping for a group hang in the Sipsey soon. Just got my Dream hammock now all I need is top quilt.

It looks like you had a very successful first hang ... Despite what Mother Nature was gifting. Well done!

Nice report. Did trail 206 Thompson Creek with Flummoxed Saturday out to ship rock and Eye of the Needle. Still muddy but not too bad. Once that mud sticks to your boots, you gain a couple of inches in height and a pound or two on each foot. Hiking poles Do make a difference. Saved me from crashing a couple of times this past weekend. Once again great report. See you on the trail.
