I'll be testing mine out 'in the field' this weekend. Have a BSA camping trip lined up. I will report, and try to take some photos if time allows.

Cool! I'm going to try this! Of all things I have some Argon 67 left over from a project (as the vendor only sold it in whole-metre increments). If you attached it to the ridgeline with a prussik loop (with maybe a plastic mitten hook?) you could slide it way down the other end of your ridgeline when empty to keep it out of the way, maybe...

You only need prusiks and yes, this totally works.

I did get to use mine this weekend. I kept it prussic'ed down near the foot end of my hammock. I had enough room for a spare poncho liner, my shoes, a balled up pair of clean wool socks, and some random pocket filler from my jackets.

I might add a way of securing it closed. I made mine a tad narrower than Snowballs and if I filled it too aggressively the contents had an opportunity to slither out.

I shock-corded the long edges - seems to solve that problem. See my pic above.

I bet a mini-knotty would solve that problem too!

Excellent ! That's what I get for not reading the entire thread, or thinking the whole thing through.
