I started with a HH Deep Jungle and changed the suspension to amsteel loops with cinch buckles and straps after the first time I hung in it. As you have been warned, it is an addiction. I have lost count how many hammocks I have and am expecting 3 table cloths any day now. Need something to do until spring so why not make hammocks. After all the grandkids need hammocks.
Good Choice... From a value perspective it is hard to beat the HH line.

Gonna be ordering me some Dutch buckles ty for the recommendation!
Hurray!
I picked up an Expedition this past fall and love it. You'll have a great time hanging between the trees on your two month hike!
I second the "make sure you get good insulation" remarks. As a recent convert from tent camping, I'm still finding my way in that regard, as insulation solutions are way simpler in a tent. One good pad and you're good to go all year long, just bring along the sleeping bag as well... not so easy in a hammock!
2 months if we did it straight, wish we could but longest trip we have plans for will be 14 days on summer break, other then that we will be hitting long weekends and some 4 day outings starting mid to late march, dont wanna burn the kiddo out (That what i tell people but truth be told it might be the other way around) Either way I cant wait we will be getting a few winter trips in for preparation.
Yesterday I owned three Hennessy Hammocks but sold one last night to help fund a gently used HG Incubator 0! I love this line. Last week I picked up an Explorer and can't believe it is possible, but is even more comfortable than my Expedition!! I really want to try a Warbonnet for comparison but can't see how I could sleep any better. I keep one set up at all times in my basement for naps or even to check emails. Luckily you have supportive family members, my family think I have joined some weird religion!!!!!
Congratulations for having great taste Sir!
The Safari zip is hard to beat, even for rigs twice the price.
Only two things I never liked was tarp and suspension.
That is awesome. Been wanting to get the safari zip since I'm 6'5 and about 280# you got an awesome deal.... the safari alone is well over $200!
Hey Mak, let me know if you want any company on the shorter trips. My daughter won't do hammocks but I could bring my 9-year-old son along. I did the FLT 100 miles a year - usually a 40-miler and two 30-milers, until we got closer to the Catskills when we did two 50-milers. There's a lot of road hikes on the FLT but all-in-all a good trail.
Congrats on the HH. My buddy in Rochester just got an Ultralight Asym on Craigslist and he's dying to try it out! He's just getting into backpacking so his gear collection and enthusiasm has been fun to watch.
