Hey all, just checking in to let you know that I'm still around and I'm super excited about this trip and glad y'all are coming, should be a right good time! I'll be posting up the final details including meet up times, directions, links to the trail map, etc on the morning before the trip so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. If you want, you can also email me at [email protected] and I'll personally email you the details. Man, this trip can't get here soon enough!

If anyone is heading there from the Western side of Independence Pass - send me a PM. I'd love to be able to attend as I live in the Aspen-Area, but have no car. So while its literally on the other side of the Divide, I can't make it!

Ah... Just saw this now. The wife and I already made plans to go camping for that weekend further north near RMNP. If you guys plan any other overnighters this summer/fall be sure to post them! (if you want company, that is)

Unless this is an overnight-Saturday Night thing, I won't be able to make this as my coworker is taking half of June off (the last 2.5 weeks).

Just under two weeks away!! Can't wait. Are there any updated numbers on how many are looking at going and what times people are shooting to arrive?

No Car so unless anyone is driving through the Aspen/Snowmass area, I won't be able to attend.

    Hi fellers!

This will be the last update before the trip this weekend!

    Here are the details:

    http://www.hikingwalking.com/destina...ighline_detail

The directions I took are a little different and as follows:

    1) From I-70, take the Copper Mountain Exit towards Leadville (Hwy 91)

    2) Once you arrive in Leadville, take a right on W 6th Street. This will then dead end at McWethy Drive, take a right on McWethy Drive (County Road 4).

    3) Drive 3 miles to a “Y” intersection. Bear left at the intersection, following the signs to Turquoise Lake. Further on the road will travel along the south side of the lake. Toward the head of the lake reach a “Y” intersection

    4) Bear left on the Hagerman Pass Road (Forest Service Road 105) and drive 3.6 miles to the trail head parking lot, located on your left side of the road.

    My mobile is (303) 845-2442 and I drive a copper/orange Jeep Wrangler 4 Door

I am actually taking off on Friday and plan to be at the trailhead around 5am in order to get to the lake and get set up before the afternoon storms roll in. If anyone cares to join me on Friday as well, please send me a text to my number above or email me at [email protected] and let me know if you are joining me on Friday and what time so that I can be on the look out.

The parking area to the trailhead is a little tight so I recommend getting there early. Also, if you don't mind, please send me a text or email to let me know if you are coming on this trip whether you are joining me on Friday or coming in Saturday.

We might have a few storms roll through in the afternoon but I am not thinking it will be a complete washout. No matter what, it will be a great time and nice to get away from this crazy work week!
    Looking forward to it!
