    Tato Tarp Connector Thoughts?

Has anyone used the Tato tarp connectors that are for sale on Dutchware's website? Just wondering what the initial thoughts were regarding these.

I use them(since early 2014) and I like them. I got sick of prussiks using Lash-it. I used to use separate ends on my superfly with prussiks, now I use a CRL with a Dutch Hook, Wasp, and Tato's. The prussiks would just get so tight and frustrating hard to loosen, so I took a chance on the Tato's and I'm glad I did!

The one flaw of the Tato's is the bungy cord. I didn't like it at all(I couldn't get a tight pitch), so I cut it off and spliced continuous loops of Lash-it on where the bungy used to be, and all is wonderful!

I don't care for them. Too finicky on the tautness of your ridgeline.... Too tight and you can't get the connector to hook, too loose and it doesn't hold.

Yep, if you tighten the ridgeline like you normally would have it/want it, then you can't get the hook set(you need a little slack). What I do is string my ridgeline up but leave it slightly loose, adjust my tarp where I want it and set the hooks, then I go and crank the ridgeline tight. I don't find it finicky(it's easy) and I like it way better then my old prussik set up!

Have them. Find them a bit clunky. I made some like this:

The loop on the split ring can be shock cord or Zing It. Depends if you want stretch or not.

This set-up is intentionally a couple extra inches long to be able to use tarp sleeves and still store the tarp separately from the line.

The trick is to string them correctly. Most of the pictures show it done improperly. Pretty sure MSR had these first.
