Hi I'm Damian, just got into hammocking and did my first hang a few weeks ago. Wasn't sure whether I'd take to it and enjoy the experience so made one rather than buy one initially. Been into wild camping for a few years now and had one of the best night sleep in me El Cheapo DIY hammock, made from a 1 tonne builders dumpy bag covered by an inexpensive utility tarp. I'm kicking myself for not getting into the world of hammock camping sooner as it was an enjoyable experience. I'll upload some pics of the setup as I've not seen anyone else use this inexpensive means of making a hammock, which is great for people just starting out, a quick hang in a survival situation or for those who just love to make things out of everyday items. I've since ditched it for a TW Hammocks Camo Super XL Ripstop 3m x 1.7m which I've yet to try. It feels a little heavy and a touch bulky but I'm sure I'll end up owning a few more in the months and years to come. Ok thats enough waffling for now, ATB, Damian.
