    Making up my Whoopie Tails

Hi all. This method for making up the slack ends of your whoopies after making adjustments may have been posted already. Delete if it has.
Depending on the tree spacing I may have a fair bit of line hanging down from my whoopies after getting the hang right. I used to daisy-chain but now I use the sheepshank. I just figure-eight the slack on my fingers and finish off with half-hitches. I like it better because even after daisy-chaining I would still have a fair bit hanging down.

I like that. I usually just do some figure eights and finish it with 3-4 wraps and a slippery knot. I agree about the daisy chains. As much as I'm a daisy chain and circle daisy chain fool at home, it doesn't get rid of enough excess on the trail for me.

Wanderlust, that'll work. I remove my whoopies from the ends of my hammock when putting things away. When I make up the whoopies, I use the slippery hitch too.

This why I keep a ponytail elastic snugged through itself right where my whoopie comes off of my continuous loop. I just do a figure 8 wind on my fingers and tuck the bundle into the elastic. If you have a wide hang, and there's not much extra line, you can just double the wind back on itself before you push it into the elastic. It also serves as a drip catch.

Good idea Grundelore. Many ways to skin a cat. I use the elastic ponytail wraps instead of snakeskins for my tarp. Works great!
